Changes in baby's movement?

Up until the last week or so, the baby's movements have been mostly kicks, pokes, punches and the occasional roll.  Now though, it feels more like he is actually crawling around in there!  He is so squirmy!!!  It's really a cool feeling   I'm guessing it's because he's got a little less room.

How about you?  Are you LOs' movement qualities changing?

Mine are definitely more of "pushes" now than "kicks" if that makes sense. They're more solid and I can feel movement move across my stomach, etc.

I have noticed more powerful kicks/movement the last two weeks.  Last night one took my breath away.  She keeps kicking in the same spot and it's been painful a few times.

I got this really weird feeling the other day.. almost like the baby tickled me. It was that feeling where it did not hurt, made me jump a little (kind of like a twitch) and giggle. She's done it to me when I lie on my right side (sometimes she moves so hard that it hits the mattress and then bounces back on me!) and then way down low. I was driving yesterday and jumped b/c it was like someone squeezed right above my knee.. that ticklish part?

Most definitely!  There's shifting now.  Before I was just feeling thumps, kicks, etc.  Now the movement is sort of fluid and continuous.  I think he's flipping around in there...crazy!

Definetly more big movement, as opposed to kicks. Sometimes its really cool, but a few times its made me want to vomit lol I love it though because I feel like I can feel how strong he's getting! I find it reassuring!

I feel like my baby girl has gotten to where she just body slams me.   The movement is so strong over such a large are that I don't know what else it could be.

yes. I mentioned to my Dr yesterday that there have been less jerks and thumps and more smooth movements. Not as jumpy. She hooked me up to the non-stress test machine to make sure LO was fine and all was good. It's more like big stretches now.

I'm getting a lot more pushes rather than quick jabs and your absolutely spot on with the kind of crawling feeling.....

it's exciting to think they are growing so big in there!!!!!

Exactly how you are describing! More squirming, and lots more pushing. Sometimes I think he's trying to escape!

Yes, it's been different for the past couple weeks for me.  I told my sister today that the baby was pretending to be a lava lamp because all the squirming reminds me of the blobs of lava just grooving around in there!

Yes! I am feeling much bigger movements and almost rolling around rather than just kicks and quick jabs. Although I can't help but wonder how she's positioned in there! I can't wait to find out this weekend!

Yep, same here. She went from lots of little pokes and punches to pushing and shoving now lol. I can feel her brace up against one spot and try to stretch out different ways. My midwife showed me some tricks to feel where exactly what is what, so it's neat when DH and I can figure out how she is positioned.

I was just telling DH yesterday how I felt like baby was always moving, stretching, flipping, hiccuping, etc in there. 

I know I'm the oddball out and everyone else loves it, but I'm ready for the next 9 weeks to be over and him to be out already.

Yes! She has been moving and turning alot. I still get the strong kicks too! I can definitely tell there's less room in there.

My little guy has taken to kidney shots.  It also feels like he's imitating those Garfield window clings.  But I have noticed the pushing off, like he's practicing for the swim team or something.

I agree completely!! Its like a crawling feeling now! I dont feel nearly as many kicks and jabs now!

My whole belly rolls, shakes, and jumps for a good portion of the day now! It feels like my LO is doing aerobics in my belly.

oh yes, definitely. They have been stronger and more forceful too! Like he/she is literally trying to find an opening or some way out there. lol

Ooh!  "Crawling" is an excellent way to describe what I am feeling.  And much like everyone else, less sharp jabs and more smooth movements.  Fun!

Yep, he's been kicking less lately and just rolling around in there. When he does kick it's either real low, and feels like he's trying to kick his way out through my vagina or he kicks me right in the ribs. So fun now that he's getting bigger and has less room, lol.

Yep! Mine changed to that about a week and a half ago.

I have a short torso...so that's why I think I'm feeling it so early. It is such a cool feeling.

Yes!  Less strong, jabby kicks, and more stretching and poking/dragging.  She's also learned to shove her feet way up into my ribs and then wiggle them, which tickles

Yes! I've really noticed it in the past week. I told MH that it seems like we're in the "Alien" stage now, where it feels like she could conceivably pop out of my stomach during dinner one night :-)
