I don't know if I am crazy, but Sutton sounds like the name of a pig. I hate it so much, I can't even put it into words. It is my #1 hated name. I'm sorry
I think James is such a great name. I think it's more classic than popular.

LOL It seriously does sound like the name of a pig! Weird!
I see both of your cons...IMO you need to go back searching for names Although I love James, a common LN will make it boring.
I know a guy with the LN Sutton and I always thought it sucked for even a LN. For a FN it is probably one of the worst (correctly spelled) names I have seen

hahaha. I have to agree. Down here it's a common last name. I think of backwoods folk when I hear the name.

This is a hard one. James is classic, so I wouldn't worry about it being "trendy", it's always been a pretty popular name. The only thing I don't like about James is the possibility of it being shortened to Jim or Jimmy. My friend's husband struggles with this- he likes to be called James.
I do know a couple of babies named Sutton, but they're girls, like Sutton Foster, the broadway actress, so just to add to how people around here think it's weird, I also consider it a girl name purely based on the fact that I've only known girls with this name- it "sounds" like a boys name to me...
Re: Help us name our phantom boy!
I agree with both of your cons, personally. So I would look for something different. But if you love James, then go for it.

I chose James, sounds good with Christian, too.
