I tried two things, a pack of maternity panties, and just going up a size with my regular ones. I prefer the up a size ones. The maternity ones are not super comfy IMO

I'm going to be the weird one here. I normally don't wear any at all because I don't see the point (except if I'm wearing a skirt, which is not too often).
I bought maternity panties because I figured the thongs I own are not going to be sufficient for pads after birth. Also, I have to go to all these doctor appointments and I don't want people thinking I'm gross, and there is this new nasty discharge that I don't want on my pants. I got a 3 pack from Motherhood on sale, and they are sufficient.
My MIL bought me a pack of maternity panties - I thought I wouldn't need them and didn't wanna spend the money. I have to say....they are SO SO comfy, though. Just awesome!!!
I like the maternity panties. I have some Gap ones, that are so comfy! More butt coverage, they don't dig at all, very comfortable. I plan on getting some more.
They're a marketing gimmick, really. They may be cut a little bit lower, but they're just an overpriced version of what you're already wearing.
I stick with good ol' cotton Hanes in a size bigger when I'm pregnant. Serves the same purpose for 1/4 the cost.
Clearly I am the Maternity Panties Advocate here.
Maternity underwear actually has a larger front panel to cover more of the belly. They aren't meant for small bellies, they are meant for big mama 3rd tri bellies, otherwise they just look and feel awkward.
I was referring to the bikini style maternity panties. I've actually never seen the full size style with a panel, just bikini or hipster styles.
I wear regular boy-breif cut panties from VS - and I am quite short so they come half way up my belly. I find they are "rolling down" on me this past 2 weeks

Me too, but I buy 1 size larger.
