Rubbing gums on hands

My 5 1/2 month old has been rubbing her gums on her hands non-stop for a couple of days. Could this be due to teething? I know they say chewing and gnawing are signs. She holds her hand still and shakes her mouth back and forth really hard on her knuckles / hands. Is there anyone else whose LO is doing this?

Sounds like teething to me!

We call that "corn on the cobbin," DD has been doing the same thing for over a month now and still no tooth. She does this to anything she can get her mouth on.

DS does that, he cut 2 teeth yesterday, and hes been doing it since he started teething last month.
