Homemade babyfood/....

So over the weekend I made a few different types of homemade babyfood, and I was wondering what you ladies stored yours in. I am freezing it for future use and am not very keen on the idea of freezer bags ( I would hate for it all to get freezer burn) So do you guys have any suggestions, I was thinking about using the Ziploc containers??

TIA

  • I freeze mine in Ziploc bags. You shouldn't get freezer burn, but you will have ice particles on them which is totally normal.

I am curious about what everyone else is doing too since I am going to be starting to make my own baby food in about 2 weeks (i was planning on using the really heavy duty freezer bags).  What do you freeze your purees in, regular ice cube trays or something else?

  • I used regular ice cube trays and I also used a few of those throw away foil pans both worked great. I had to cut the food in the foil pans to the right size but it was no biggie.

And to the above thanks so much! I will just use the bags :)

  • Space is kind of an issue in my freezer so I also use freezer bags, but then I also put all the freezer bags in a plastic Rubbermaid-type plastic container, to keep them from getting lost within the other food in there.  I also only make enough to last 2-3 weeks so that it gets used up quick enough.
