So this is my third on the way.
My firs tbaby (Jordina) , Iwas at 20 years old. It was a long birth - 25 hours but in the end not too complicated.
So my 2nd (Salua) who is now 18 months old - i convinced myself it would be alot easier and shorter than the first- i pretty much thought it would be a dream birth with no drugs or any intervention, but it was long (8 hours induction, 3 hours pushing) and ended up vacuum extraction and i never want to go through that again.
Now with this one im really scared of what i may go through . Hoping that since there is a shorter gap between birth No2 and this one that maybe my body might remember what it has to do and have mercy on me??
any thoughts or experiences where the births got easier?
Re: scared of the birth this time- did anyone have better 2nd births?
I can't help my first birth was my DS induced and labored for 17 hours pushed for 28 minutes and out he came of course that was 17 years ago then my DD born in 2008 I was in labor for an estimated 10 hours or so and pushed for 2 hrs 16 minutes and she had shoulder dystocia so they thought her collar bone was broke and her shoulder was messed up since they had to push on me to get her out. I pray everyday this birth for #3 is much better than my daughters. Also my son weighed 8lbs 9oz 2 weeks early and my DD was 8 lbs 12.8 oz 3 weeks early.
Good luck!!

I think that every single birth is different and you never know what to expect...that being said my 2 deliveries went like this:
DD 17 years ago: 3 full days of hard labor. I was insisting on a natural, drug free birth. My doctor finally got through to me with "you need a break or you won't have the energy to push and this WILL be a c-section" I accepted an epi and she was born a couple hours later (72 hours of labor, 3 pushes TOTAL)
DS 15 years ago: induced 10 days overdue - epi at 3cm, born 14 hours after induction started (14 hours of labor, 4 pushes TOTAL).
DS due in July. I have ZERO expectations - I just hope he's head down (he wasn't at 20 weeks but flips around in there daily) and I don't go overdue.
Thankyou all for your replies. Perhaps I feel a little better......
No expectations is a good idea.
Any epidural experiences you want to tell me about. good? bad? I was booked for an epi but never ended up getting it. They gave me pethidine which I did not want as I knew from the first time that it doesnt help me. And i just ended up missing the window of opportunity for the epi. Which i think would have been awesome with the vaccuum .
