DD and the potty!

DD loves to sit on her potty but only lasts 2 seconds, wipes and tells me she peed...really she gets on right after she pees in her diaper.  About a week ago she forced one single drop into the potty and was so proud of herself.  Two days ago she walked into the bathroom and said she had to pee, took off her diaper and sat on the toilet, I gave her a step-stool for her feet and she peed like a race horse.  Today she said she had to pee and sat on the toilet, I gave her the step-stool and she pooped!  I realize these are very likely flukes but they are still so exciting, I would love to be rid of diapers so I would be thrilled if she could be potty trained by the end of the summer at the same point that DS was.  That said, my 2 best friend's DDs had major problems trying to PT under 3yo both involving hospital stays for UTIs so it scares me.

Re: DD and the potty!

  • #2 peed on the potty about a month or so ago.  Same thing - said potty, went, sat down, peed.  It was all very exciting since #1 wasn't PT'd til 3.5!  Of course it was a fluke, but he still shows interest...more in "wiping" and flushing but still.

  • DD has been potty trained since January and it's wonderful not having to buy diapers. I think the second one is just more interested bc they see the older sibling going. Good luck, hopefully it isn't a fluke!

  • My DD started doing this mid February, and we've been in regular undies since then, 2 down one more to go.
  • Good luck, hopefully it isn't a fluke! We just got DD potty trained and it is so nice not to have to buy diapers!
