Is there anyone that actually likes the name Makenna?!?

After reading all of the posts about how people think the name, Makenna, is "trashy, trendy, and juvenile,"  I'm very curious to see if there is anyone on this board that actual likes it.  I absolutely love it, hence DD's name, and I am not trashy or juvenile.  All of our friends and family IRL love it too.  Just thought it would be interesting to see the answers.

I'm pretty sure you won't get too many responses. It sgenerally accepted here that we don't comment on kids who are already named, to their parents. 

Since you asked, I think it is just very trendy and I don't like it, but your daughter is very cute.

I like it, I'm considering using it as a middle name. I may be trendy but not trashy or juvenile. Everyone has an opinion as long as you like it thats all that matters.

I don't think it is trashy at all.  I just think it's going to become popular/trendy and date itself to this generation... much like the Shannon, Jessica, Tiffany, Ashley, Jennifers etc. of our generation.  If you're okay with that then there's no reason for you not to name your child that... it's just a lot of people like more classic names that have been around for many years.

I think I'd like it, except for the association I have with it. I knew a couple in junior high/high school. They were kind of skanky, and mean. But the name itself isn't bad.

I'm not a fan of any of the Mac/Mc/Mak names.

Edit: I don't find them trashy though. They just aren't my particular style. My uncles granddaughter is a Makenna and she's adorable.

I don't hate it. My cousin's name is Makenna (she's 7) and it really fits her. I don't love it though, and it can sound a little "white trash"...I guess the biggest issue I see with it is that I have a hard time seeing the name work on an adult.

Edit:I didn't realize it was your daughter's name! It actually fits her beautifully, and she is adorable. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I strongly dislike the Mc, Mak sounding names but for some reason Makenna is the only one I actually do kind of like.

I don't think that it is trashy, trendy or juvenile.  While I don't hate it, I don't love it either.  I think that the important thing is that you do love it, which makes it a good fit for your daughter.

I think my personal disdain of McDonald's has caused me to despise the "McNames". I also don't think most of them age well. That being said, I think Makenna would probably be the one that I hate the least. I don't like it, but I think it's far from trashy. (totally trendy though)

First of all, your daughter is adorable!  That being said, no I don't really like the name much. 

I find it very trendy.  It is definitely is going to be dated around the 2008-2012 timeframe.  It will never be a classic name.

i don't hate the name makenna/mckenna, i just don't prefer it.

I don't hate it at all as long as it's spelled Makenna. I don't like Mc names for the fact they seem to lend themselves to weird spellings.

It's NMS but I don't think badly of it at all.

I think with names, there are certain styles and genres. with the "classic" genre names typically having the most longevity. But other names fit more clearly into one particular style  or era and only appeals to those with that particular style or in that era. I think that's the case with the Mac/Mc names... it's a certain genre that you love or don't love for a certain generation. 

That said, your daughter is adorable, and it's a perfectly fine name!

I don't like it, but there are many other (popular) names that I dislike much more. One of my closest friends LOVES Makenna. I think it's one of her top choices.

Its not my style but I think its a nice name. I know people say its trendy but I only know of one baby by that name and she's about 1 year old.

I'm just not a fan of the Ma/Mc/Mac names for girls. I don't care for the Ma- spelling at all, for me it looks misspelled.

However, I will say I like Makenna a whole lot more than Makenzie!

This.  The only Mc/Mac/etc. name I actually sorta like is Michaela/Mikayla/etc.  I wouldn't use it personally though.

I definitely don't think it sounds trashy, but I do think it sounds a little trendy.  That said, your daughter is adorable, and at the end of the day, you picked a name that you loved, so other people's personal preferences don't matter.

My grandmothers maiden name is McKenna and that was going to be my go to girl name until it became popular. I love it because it is a family name but I did not want out child stuck with a bunch of other kids named the same thing.

It's not trashy, just NMS. Now, I really don't like MaKenna or McKenna, with the extra capitalized letter.

I think you back people into a corner when you ask questions like these.  We DO NOT comment as we usually would on names once the ink is dry on the birth certificate.

I will just say, that never under any circumstances would I give my daughter a name anything like Makenna.  Mc/Mak/Mac names are meant to be surnames.  Surnames are masculine.

I actually really like it.  I was surprised to see that so many people were against the name.  I am biased though,... I knew a Makenna (actually MacKenna) in high school who was pretty much perfect.

I love the name! If I have a girl it will be Makenna. My husband and I went to Maui for our honeymoon and went to Makena Bch (pretty sure its pronounce differently though). That's where we got the Idea. I haven't had anyone IRL say they hate the name and I don't know anyone named that, so I don't know why its considered "trendy". I do know on the bump ppl tend to not like it though....not going to stop me from naming my LO it though.
