Baby arrived early!

Well, my April 4th baby became a March 29th baby. He was born at 9:40am weighing 7lbs, 9 oz and 21 and 1/4 inches long. I arrived at hospital at 8:15 with contractions coming every 2-3 mins... we were meeting my midwife at 8:30 so we went into the waiting room of L&D where I had 2 more good contractions and then my water broke... contractions got a lot more intense!! The nurse came and put me in a triage room to wait will my MW arrived... hooked me up to monitors and checked me... I was already 8cms!! Baby's heart rate was dropping durning contractions so they had me switch to my right side which helped for a bit. MW arrived and I was moved to a delivery room. Baby's heart rate kept dropping (same thing happened with my first and ended in emerg c-section)... the OB on call was consulted and he checked baby and he was coming forehead first so he moved him into position...(I had no time for an epi so this was done without any medication) I was 9cms and definitely was having urges to push... The OB wanted baby out or else I was going to need a repeat C-section. So, we moved to an OR incase it went that way. The ended up using a vacuum to get him out plus a lot of pulling and stretching from the OB to help get him out quickly. Less than 5 mins of pushing and he was out!! So, arrived at hospital at 8:15 and he was born at 9:40... things went quick!!

Grayson James is a very content baby, nursing fairly well (need to work on latch a bit more) and his Big brother loves him to death!!
