Did they help your dc? We had a horrible night last night. ds had so much gas and couldn't pass it, he just screamed in pain and kept drawing up his legs..it was awful. He had it all morning too and I put a hot towell on his tummy and a f ew minutes later he passed some gas and seems ok for now.
I never used my dr. browns bottles before because they always leaked, however I realized I was using non dr. brown nipples in them.(duh, so we are using now(
anyway, did you notice a difference when you used these bottles?
Also, how do you mix up the formula in the water? I have been shaking the bottles and then scooping out the bubbles on tops then letting the bottles sit in the fridge. (premake a few at a time). I tried to stir them, but I'm so worried about mixing it up so well since the formula already constipates him. I have seen a formula mixer for sale, would this work better?
I'm desperate to help him with his gas. The drops just don't work anymore. When he cries I cry because I just can't help him.
Re: dr browns bottles? & FF questions
gas drops gas drops gas drops
every.bottle.no ifs ands or buts
We have used them for both our girls and I think they helped both of them. I add one or two gas drops to each bottle when I make it so that helps with all the bubbles. I normally just shake it right in the bottle, even though I know your not supposed to. They are a PITA to clean but I think it's worth it. Good Luck!

I use the drops ALL the time.
I may try gripe water instead.
he also had always gotten hiccups b ut they used to not bother him. In the last 2 days he freaks out and screams when he has the hiccups. So gripe water it is!
I
my Dr. Brown's bottles...what a difference...
Plus we changed her formula to Gentlease...
I usually shake the bottles and let them sit in the fridge...I also have a formula mixer...if she takes the bottle right away shaking doesn't seem to cause her any gas...
I would ask pedi about changing formula...we switched at about 5-6 weeks because it was so unbearable to watch her in agony...
We were originally on Enfamil Lipil with Iron...pedi said sometimes babies just can't handle it...she see's it a lot
They won't switch his formula until his 2 month visit which is on 10/31. I have talked to them several times and they tell me to just keep giving him gas drops and prune jiuce (for constipation)
He is on enfamil enfacare which is a preemie formula with higher calories so he'll gain weight so we can't "just" switch. I am so hoping they will switch him. I want to try gentleease.
I am really getting frustrated. =(
our DD was born at 32 weeks so she was on Neosure. ugh, it tore her little tummy up and she was always screaming during feedings and arching her back. finally i said enough was enough and i just couldnt take watching her like that any more and changed her to nestle natural cultures. it worked fine for about 3 days then back to the screaming. then we tried similac alimentum. that stunk and she didnt seem to like that and it still gave her gas. then DD's pedi said to put her on Enfamil Nutramigen and feed her every 2 hours small amounts and use the gas drops every 4 hours. that worked really well! it was definately a considerable difference in her feedings
we've always used the Dr. Brown's formula pitcher. to me, its easier and i just assumed since she already had gas that i didnt need to add anymore to her. and we started out using dr. brown bottles and after 4 months of washing all those parts, we switched her to playtex drop ins. she rarely has gas issues with these. but i also think her stomach is just maturing and she can handle more air than before.
also, you might want to give DC the drops in the mouth. if you put them in the bottle and they dont finish the bottle (which was pretty common for DD and all her screaming during feedings), you're losing some of it.
good luck!!
