She's having a girl who has been given a 2% chance of survival and a 5% chance that she'll make it a week if she makes it through today. They just found out a few days ago and she was induced this morning at 37 weeks.

I'm so very sorry to hear this. I lost a baby boy at 18 weeks due to Trisomy 18. It's just plain awful.  Your friend will need your support.

If she hasn't been informed yet of the services Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, you may want to suggest she contact them.  It's a nonprofit organization made up of volunteer photographers who will provide no-charge bereavement photos.  It may not be something she's thinking of now, but she may really appreciate the photos later. 

Ugh.  This just breaks my heart.  I've worked with several Trisomy 13 & 18 families and it's just devastating.
