Help! My baby never wakes up happy!

My 10 week old wakes up screaming and crying. Not squealing like he's in pain or anything, just royally ticked off.  There are no quiet wake-ups.  Is something wrong?  My older son just woke up and would look around for a while quietly, etc.  With this one, there is no such thing.

If this has been going on since the beginning, then I would say this is just how he wakes up. But if its a new developement I would think something is making him uncomfortable, gas or tummy troubles maybe?

Different babies do different things. It's pretty naive to expect both of your children to be exactly the same in every personality trait.

Thanks.  It's always helpful to be judgmental when someone has a question about their baby's well-being. But that's probably just me being naive.  Anyway, I was really just wondering if anyone else had this experience with their baby or if I should be concerned about it.

My LO squeaks around for a minute or two and then starts to wail.  Usually because she is ready to eat.

Exactly this...it's pretty rare that she wakes up peaceful.  It's okay for your LO to cry when waking up.  He's telling you to pay attention to him because he needs something.

Okay good - I feel much less worried now that I know there are other angry babies out there too!

DS wakes up like that and it was totally unexpected for us because DD always woke up in a good mood. I worried at first but I think this is just how he is.
