NBR: Got a ticket and it REALLY isn't my fault

Both of our cars are in DH's name, so registrations etc. come addressed to him. The other day we got a letter from EZ Pass, which was weird since we don't have it. DH said, open it, it could be a ticket. *Cue feeling of dread*

So I open it and it is a picture of my car!!! Going through an EZ Pass lane! Which means I obviously didn't pay! At this point I am sick to my stomach, racking my brain of when I could have possibly done this. 

Then I look at the date. It's from when we were in FL. FIL was driving our car (because of the carseat) and just went on through! I don't even think he realized it. I am kind of annoyed but not really. They were doing us a favor by babysitting, so really, how can I complain? So I just paid it. And when I told the EZ Pass people the story they cut the ticket in halfCool

    That stinks!  At least they gave you a break on it!

    Such an easy mistake to make. Glad they gave you a little break.

    DH and I share the I-Pass, and if took it out of my car I would totally do this without thinking.

    Friends from NY state came down to visit and when I saw their turnpike ticket, so I asked about it.  They said that there was NEVER a spot to pay, they thought it was weird.  Here they were coming down on 476 South, hit Plymouth Meeting and had to continue on 476 the free section.  They didn't notice the pay lanes and went through the ezpass section.  Or course they got a bill later, but were able to just turn in the ticket and pay the correct amount.  It was funny, b/c PA turnpike is NOT free. 

    Glad to hear they cut your ticket in 1/2.
