Pregnant after a Loss

Worried about feeling . . . great????

I am just over 4 weeks, and I have to say that I have not felt this physically good since I was a teenager (and that was a looooooong time ago for me, lol).  I've had so much energy since last Friday - I get a little fatigued in the afternoon/evening, but I generally feel like I have super-woman powers.  Needless to say, I don't feel remotely pregnant . . . and that makes me happy on the one hand (because last time, I cramped like a b*tch and ended up having a c/p), but worried because I want PROOF that I'm pregnant.  Not only that, but I've actually lost weight in the past week, and it's not because I haven't been eating!

I didn't make it past week 5 last time, and I felt like crap the whole time (possibly because of the stress of knowing what was to come), so I have no idea if this is normal or common.  Any thoughts?

  • I'm sure you've seen it said on these boards, but every pregnancy is different and symptoms will come and go. During the 1st trimester, some women get alot of symptoms while others don't get many at all. For peace of mind, I clarified this with my OB on Tuesday and he agreed with me.

  • At 4 weeks you're still early for symptoms like m/s.  I had relatively mild m/s (haven't thrown up yet, knock wood)...mine was at its worst from about 7-9 weeks.  Before and since then it was intermittent at best and often non-existant.

Here is a link to a thread that I referred back to a lot when I was in the early weeks.  It was a good reminder that symptoms are different for everyone and that it wasn't uncommon to not really have symptoms much the first few weeks.

  • Oh my gosh I'm so glad I saw your post.  I'm in the same boat.  I had a D&C at 12 weeks on New Years Eve.  This pregnancy, the only reason I decided to take a test is because I was a total b*%$^ for no reason a couple days and I missed my period.  I took 5 and they all came back postive, but I still don't believe it.  My bad mood has completely lifted too.  My first pregnancy I had symptoms from before I took the test.  I know that every pregnancy is different, but the fact that I feel nothing has me worried again.  I'm thinking of just going to the doctor and doing a blood test, but I don't know if that is just being paranoid and I should just wait the 3 more weeks till my first appointment.
