DS outgrew the MB before he was ready to wean, so we swaddled him in a blanket and now we're doing 1 arm out. I use an extra smaller receiving blanket inside to keep his arm(s) down inside the swaddle-in the same way the MB does. GL!
I haven't tried weaning DD yet but when I do I will try the one arm out technique and see how it goes. She did go cold turkey a whole night and a half and did well but then reverted back to needing to be tightly snuggled. GL
We had her legs out for a while, since she was too long for the MB. Then we did one arm out for a week, then two arms out with the swaddle around her waist for another week. It worked pretty well. She was in the middle of the 4 month wakeful when we did it (I figured it couldn't get any worse), so I don't know how much it was disruptive to her. But she's totally fine being unswaddled now.
We started last night doing one arm out, and will do that for a few days. Then we'll do 2 arms out for a few more days. My fingers are crossed that it works!!
