Just a few questions to you ladies to GTKY, I guess
When are you being induced? April Fools day - in 2 days! Wow!!
Why are you being induced? My high risk doctor did not want me going past my EDD - I wasn't given an exact reason other than that. They said LO is healthy and happy but they simply don't want me going past me EDD and that's fine with me! I was about to ask for an induction because I'm so tired of being pregnant!
How are you being induced? My OB was telling me about the 3 ways of induction - pitocin, the 'tape' and the 'pill'. I'm am being induced using the 'tape' to help soften & dilate me and so I don't start contracting too soon (they will probably use pitocin later on). Sorry if this question makes sense to no one else.
Are you bringing anything with you to help keep you distracted at the hospital? I was warned that inductions can take a long time and I don't want to just be laying there in the bed. Besides my Blackberry idk what to bring to keep me entertained. My attention span is so short so books are out for me.
Are you going to allow visitors while you're being induced/not in active labor? My hospital says they have a 'strict' 3 person limit but multiple people have told me that they had audiences (one woman had 7 people!) in there while laboring and delivering. My mom, dad and two brothers will be at the hospital with me and I'd hate to have all of them just sitting in the cramped waiting room so as long as I'm covered up and not in pain I hope to have them back there with me for comfort and distraction.
What last minute things do you have to do to prepare yourself, your home or your nursery? My house needs to be decluttered and just simple housecleaning stuff (vacuuming, swiffering, etc). Lo's nursery still has a few more things to be organized and her bedding is supposed to be arriving the day we're at the hospital getting induced! I don't think I'll ever mentally be ready but I'm unpacking and repacking my hospital bag tonight.

Re: If you're being induced, lets talk/GTKY :)
When are you being induced? Tentative date is Friday, April 8. If my BP is still high on Friday, we might bump it up to Monday, April 4
Why are you being induced? High blood pressure
How are you being induced? No idea. We haven't talked about the 'how' part yet!
Are you bringing anything with you to help keep you distracted at the hospital? Books. I bought "I Am Number Four" since YA books are still easy to read when your distracted. The rooms have TV's and DVD players so maybe I'll bring a movie. Also, probably my laptop.
Are you going to allow visitors while you're being induced/not in active labor? No visitors at all for us. The only person who lives nearby is BIL and I doubt he'd come visit before the baby is born.
What last minute things do you have to do to prepare yourself, your home or your nursery? I need to write a "Honey Do" list for DH since he doesn't have to work this weekend. Mostly light maintenance stuff and cleaning that I've put off.
When are you being induced? We'll find out the date tomorrow!
Why are you being induced? Type 1 Diabetes.
How are you being induced? No idea yet...probably pit.
Are you bringing anything with you to help keep you distracted at the hospital?I guess bringing my laptop. And my sister will be there (she's really just taking advantage of not going to school, but she'll keep me entertained.)
Are you going to allow visitors while you're being induced/not in active labor? Just my sister, my grandmother, and BF's aunt and cousins.

Why are you being induced? A couple of weeks ago I developed a blood clot and we discovered that I have a clotting disorder. Since then I've been on bed rest and blood thinners. They are inducing me so that they can carefully control when I go off of blood thinners and when I go back on them.
How are you being induced? They are doing a Foley bulb at first, and then adding Pitocin when I'm 2-3 centimeters dilated.
Are you bringing anything with you to help keep you distracted at the hospital? My new iPad!
Are you going to allow visitors while you're being induced/not in active labor? My parents are going to drive down on induction day - if they get here before I deliver, they'll hang out with MH and I during labor. They'll be in the waiting room during delivery. My mom was going to be in the room with MH and me during delivery, but I changed my mind. She has been pretty difficult to deal with lately, and I'm stressed enough without her making it worse.
What last minute things do you have to do to prepare yourself, your home or your nursery? I am very, very nervous about the risk of excessive bleeding or forming a new blood clot. I'll feel so much better when the baby is here and in my arms, and I'm back on blood thinners. I'm just trying to rest as much as I can. When are you being induced? April 5th (Tuesday)
Why are you being induced? PIH. My numbers have been pretty bad this week. I'm having an NST on Friday and if everything looks ok the induction will be on Tuesday.
How are you being induced? My OB is going to break my water and they will start pitocin. I'm already 2-3 cm dialated.
Are you bringing anything with you to help keep you distracted at the hospital? With DS, I never really did anything. This time around I will probably take a book or movie. I will have my laptop with me, but who knows what I will feel like doing. My OB seems to think that we will have a baby by lunchtime (I go in at 5am).
Are you going to allow visitors while you're being induced/not in active labor? It will be just DH and I.

Miscarriage d/t blighted ovum 8/14
When are you being induced? April Fools Day. 1 week before my EDD.
Why are you being induced? At my hospital it is standard for GD mamas to be induced at 39 wks. I was against it at first but after asking a ton of questions, I feel a little bit better about it. Wanted little to no medical intervention but *shoulder shrug*
How are you being induced? Pitocin I am assuming.

DD 2.0 ~ 12/30/2013
When are you being induced? April 19 (39 wk 5 days)
Why are you being induced? pure convenience to set up childcare for DD1. we have no fam. nearby to help out. of course, if I go into labor earlier naturally we only have two friends on our 'on call' list who are willing to help out. fingers crossed.

Are you going to allow visitors...? nope, we won't even tell our families/friends until after the baby is born. I mistakenly told a few ppl while I was in labor with DD1. I rec'd unexpected visitors during painful contractions, dialation cks,etc...Also, rec'd several phone calls from ppl wanting updates. Not this time-I want to relax as much as I can w/o add'l stress.

April 15th
They took me off all my blood thinners a week ago, and don't want her to stay in much longer than 39 weeks because of that.
C-Section. I feel better just going for it. My body has not exactly proven itself to do what it needs to do in pregnancy, and I'm tired of leaving things up to nature and chance. My OB agreed, and he's one of the rare OBs that does not push for inductions/sections.
I am bringing my laptop to the hospital, for after.
My parents and ILs will be in the waiting room, but only DH is to hold her until I'm in recovery and have had my time with her. The hospital encourages this, so I know they'll keep the grandmas at bay (we have two very eager grandmas, so this will be no small task, and I'm glad DH will have some back up).
Finding a home for everything is still going on. We have baby stuff everywhere - I need to clear room in the kitchen cabinets for bottles, install the car seat still, etc. I also need to pack DH and I up; baby has been packed for awhile.
