WTD if your PT'd DC doesn't always poop in the potty?

Max has about a 50% rate of getting the poop in the potty.  If all of the conditions are favorable, he can do it.  If he feels rushed, fahgedaboutdit.

Most of his poopy accidents happen at school, so they throw his underwear away (not sure if I'd really want it anyway, but I don't know how bad it is).  At this rate, I will be buying him new underwear often.

In a way, I guess it is good that he's not constipating himself holding it in or waiting until he has a diaper on at night.  He's been using the toilet well for about 2-3 weeks now.  Will it eventually just click?  What do you do in the meantime other than lots of laundry? ;-)

ETA: I understand that if he's not pooping in the potty he's not PT'd.  But, I meant it as a distinction from his little sister who doesn't poop in the potty either ... b/c she's still in diapers.

  • I'd just take it as one of the many joys of PT'ing.  I wouldn't make a fuss in front of Max....just say something like "next time let's try to get your poop in the potty" and keep washing his undies.  It'll click eventually.  GL!
