Could this be it?

I am in a great deal of pain this morning.  It is awful!  I am feeling pain in my back and a lot of pain with pressure in front (not like lightening crotch pressure, its different) , but I feel like the pain is coming from the pressure, as opposed to the tightening. With all previous contractions/BH, the discomfort has come in the tightening.  Is this the difference between real contractions and BH?

I never had any natural labor with DD, so I really don't know.  I am tempted to call the office, but I am thinking that they will just send me to the hospital, so I thought I  would run it by here first.

Thanks!

  • you just described exactly how i feel! i don't feel like i'm contracting but have the back pain and lower pain in the front. i have no idea what this means i've had a baby before. lol
  • The difference between BH and true contractions are that contractions are time-able. If the pressure you are having is random then its probably not it. If all else fails, call the office.

  • I would wait a while before calling/going in. If they're real, you'll get past that "is it or isn't it?" phase and things will ramp up a bit. Trying timing them, take a walk, have something to eat and drink lots of water! And rest if you get a chance. Keep repeating those things, moving/eating/resting until they either stop or get more intense. I had a lot of timeable, regular contractions with DD that after an hour or two would stop, from about 34 wks on. She wasn't born until 39wks 6 days!
