Anybody not having kids at the 1st birthday party? None of our close friends or family have kids and the only kids we do know are the kids from our small church. I was going to invite all of them but that started getting bigger than I wanted. I don't think it would be right if I only invited a few and not all since the church is so small. So I don't think we will have any kids there. I kinda feel bad for Thomas not having other kids at his party.
Re: No kids at 1st party
I think it's fairly common. I know there weren't any kids at my 1st birthday. We don't have any close friends with kids either, so we'll be lucky if there's one other kid there.
I'm hoping to pull off a party with no kids! We are actually friends with several people with babies right around the same age as ours, and if we invite them all we'll have a ton of kids in the house. Mine is only 9 months now, but still a year old just seems still a little too young to really "play" with other kids, understand activities, etc. I don't even know if DS will be walking by then, you know? I'm thinking of having the party in the evening just an hour or so before his bedtime, so we can sing, do cake, put him to bed, and commence the "we survived a year of parenthood party" with our friends (who hopefully will get babysitters...)
We only had a few kids at the party (family), and they are all much older than E. I really don't think she cared if there were kids there or not. I don't see how it's possible for a 1 year old to have friends, lol.
I think it'll be fine!
