NBR: Baking question

Earlier this week I made a huge batch of oatmeal peanut butter cookies.  I froze half of the dough.

When I baked up the half I didn't freeze I realized that I didn't like the texture.  They are too "cakey" and need more peanut butter.

So here is my question.  When I defrost the other dough am I asking for disaster if I try to mix in more peanut butter?

  • Go for it.

I'd like the recipe, too. Oatmeal cookies and p.b. cookies are my favorites, and combining the two sounds heavenly.

  • The recipe doesn't work yet.   As soon as they are yummy enough I'll post.  But I won't post until they are good.  I hate crappy recipes that don't work...like the one I have right now.
  • I doubt it, it's cookies, not something where the texture is ruined by overmixing.  I mean, it is possible to overmix cookies, but I really think they aren't going to be ruined or a failure. . .and that being said, please share!!!  I wanna cookie!

  • From my experience, freezing dries out the dough a little, so this will sound weird, but I would add more peanut butter and a little butter as well to moisten it up.
