What's your favorite formal name for Annie?

I like Anna and Annie, but would prefer Anna as a double FN (possibly Anna Gray). I like Annie, but it feels nicknamey. What's your favorite name that Annie can be a NN for?

 

My grandmother's MN was Annette, but I don't care for it.

I like plain old Anne. I would choose Anna second. If you want something frillier, there's always Annabelle/Annabel.

Anastasia!  If we get to have another girl we'll name her Anastasia with Annie as a nn option.

I'm with you. Love Anna and Annie. I'd use Anna as a FN but would also consider Anna Grace, Anna Kate, Anna Claire or Anna Caroline for a double FN.

Youngest DD was named after her GR-grandmother and Grandmother-Annie Ruth.  We call her by both...it just kind of stuck.

My sister is Annie and her proper name is Analiese. My dad pronounces it like Anais, (Ah-nah-ees), which is another good Annie name. So is Anca.

You can choose pretty much any name with "an" somewhere in it and use the nn Annie.

I do like the suggestion of Anastasia though. It lends itself to lots of nicknames if she ends up not liking being called Annie. I have a friend named Anastasia, but she goes by Stacy.
