I had a successful ECV almost 2 weeks ago. It was not painful, just very uncomfortable - when the doctor pushes down in your belly to get a good grip of LO you loose your breathe and there is LOTS of pressure. They use tons of u/s gel to lubricate your skin against their hands so it makes turning the baby easier. You will be sore (like someone beat you up) afterwards and the 'addrenaline' shot (I forgot the name of the actual medication - it starts with a T) that they give you is not fun at all - the medication itself burns when it goes is and you heart races but they use it to relax your ute. I am ultimately very happy that I did the ECV so that way I have a high chance of delivering naturally.
I'm breech also as of my 36 week appointment. My doctor told me the procedure to turn him would only be around 10% sucessful b/c LO is butt down wedged in my pelvis. I felt terrible after leaving my appointment like I had done something wrong....but I've made peace now. They are calling to schedule my C-section today. Good luck.
I was in L&D the other night and found out that our LO had turned breech again!!!! I did a few exercises at home and within the day he turned. I know that that is not the norm but here's what helped me: I layed on back and lifted my butt in the air so my hips were elevated I stayed like that for as long as I could (no more than 5 mintues). I also got on all fours put my shoulders as low as they would go and left my butt up in the air. I did this several times for 5-10 minutes at a time. I also had my husband shine a flashlight at the bottom of my belly and hold a bag of frozen food at the top of my stomach while I did these moves. By the end of the day I felt him move into the head down position. Because he I have so much amniotic fluid it makes it possible for him to turn easily, which is great when he is breech, but makes me nervous that he could turn breech again. I know there are lots of exercises online for how to turn a breech, I just thought it might be encouraging to hear that sometimes it takes just a little encouragement. I hope you LO turns for you.

Hi Ladies! Its been forever since I have posted! Now that we are so close I have been checking the bump more often. My little guy is also breech. We have a tentative c-section sceduled for the 20th. We have tried the cat/cow, the flash light, the heating pad/ice pack and he just wont move! Definitely keep everyone updated if you have success getting your babies to turn.
Re: Is anyone currently breech?
June Siggy: Fave pic of Aubrey and me
We are breech. I had the ECV done yesterday and it was unsuccessful, and yes, it was painful, but not unmanagable. I am sore today.
C-section will be sometime next week for us.
