NBR: Just feeling down

I just need a little vent.  Everything is starting to get me down, we haven't had a car for 2 weeks because it broke down.  We now know it's the computer that died in it and is going to cost us $460ish to be replaced then there is the labor charge on top of that. 

We've finally (kinda happy about it) sorted out the bank in regards to our loan payments.  They have increased from $520 to $877 per month to help pay off the arrears (so at least I know they aren't going to get the debt collectors onto us, which was stressing me out)

We seem to have this horrible cycle where everything is going great and we are starting to get on top of everything, then something happens and we're right back where we started.

My partner at the moment only works 15 hours a week, and that was enough for us to get by with a little left over for us (that is with the help of my payments from the government) when our loan was $520 per month.  He is in the process of applying for other jobs etc. I'm just hoping he starts another job very soon.

On top of all this my Brother is constantly bagging out my partner and insulting him etc.  Calling him lazy and ***.  Neither of us are stupid, we both know he needs to get more work.  But my family is so money orientated it drives me nuts.  I'm happy that my partner has finally found a job he enjoys and wants to turn into a career.  But they all think he should just scrap it and get a laboring job (which they also think is bellow them ) just to make more money (not that there are any in our area anyway).  Things will be fine when I start work (which I plan to do next year).  Anyway there is ALOT more to that story and I don't want to bore anyone with the details, I just really needed to get all that out of my poor head.

It always seems like when it rains..it pours.  One thing after another goes wrong!- It has happened to me.. I am in the same boat- financially because I can't work due to an accident & sucks!

Hope things start looking better for you asap!   & Tell your bro to shut it and you know what you guys are doing!

Thanks ladies.  We just found out it is going to cost us $1000 to get our car back Looks like I'll be walking to the hospital when I go into labor lol.

Here's hoping things look up for us soon.

I feel you same thing happens to me.. just about when i see the light at the end of the tunnel we take a sharp turn down and have to build back up. My DH has a part time job he also loves but going full time is like pulling teeth we have already waited 3 years with no end in site. He loves his job and really wants to make it his career. He went out and got another job so he could work both and they come out to actually be over a full time job which is nice.

I hope everything works out for you and your car. Your not alone!

Thanks...In an odd way I feel glad I'm not the only person (but I hope things look up for everyone else soon too)

I got some good news today, my MIL is going to give us $700 to put towards the car, which means I can re-arrange my budget and we can get the car next week (YAY, I'm so over walking everywhere).  My partner doesn't want to do this, but there is just to many other things that need to be paid off before June and having the car and the cost of it out of the way until I get my Baby Bonus money from the Government (which is when we agreed to pay her back) is a lot of stress of my shoulders.  I just hope I explained it well enough to my partner that he understands that we don't have much choice in this at the moment.
