12 weeks pregnant with twins and i can't gain weight!!! I gained 5 pounds in the first 5 weeks, but now I've lost that and more! anyone else in the same boat?!?!
Im not having twins but I heard this is very common this early. I wouldnt worry too much I dont think* you are supposed to gain that much in the beginig anyways. If your Doc isnt concerned I wouldnt be
If your dr. isn't concerned, don't worry too much about it. Have you bought Dr. Luke's books for a multiples pg? The amt. of calories she suggests is insane, IMO, BUT--the gaining guidlines were extremely helpful. It depends on your starting weight/BMI but it guides you through each tri and what you should be gaining. It is important to gain early in a twin pg b/c if you end up delivering prematurely, God forbid, you've at least gained adequate weight.
I found eating lots of mini meals was easier to help gain vs. big meals that made me too full too quick. The key was a lot of protein and healthy fats---Greek yogurts, Boost Protein or carnation instant breakfast shakes, nuts, avacados, cheese, hummus, etc.
GL and try not to stress. The weight creeped up for me on and off during the 2nd tri. Eat when you can though b/c by the 3rd tri, it really does get hard to eat!
