Can we talk sh!t for a minute? (Seriously, I mean poop)

For the last two days I have had serious diarrhea issues. Like up three times a night, etc. I'm staying hydrated as best I can, but yuck.

I know it's sometimes a sign of labor. I just wondered if other ladies have been dealing with this, and if it's been going on for awhile? I have an OB appointment on Wed., and I don't think there is much they can do about it in the meantime unless I think I need fluids.

And yeah. I'm kind of fishing to see if those of you who had your LOs experienced this. I said below, and I meant it, that I'm not in any super hurry for her to arrive. But I'm really scared of missing the signs that stuff is happening, at the same time.

Haha! I haven't been able to pull out this PIP since TTGP!

FWIW, I have heard that it is sometimes a sign of labor as well. Good luck!!

I know, I'm ashamed. It's my first fishing post on TB. I thought I was better than it, but clearly not!

  • Mine's not that bad (up three times a night), but starting yesterday my stomach just feels upset a lot. I had some constipation from the Iron supps, and it seems now like my body is going the opposite direction!

  • Welcome to my shitty world!  It's been a week of "cleansing" for me too... about 3 shits a day when I'm usually a once/day kind of gal.  I don't remember this as a sign of labor before my DD, but I'm planning to talk to my OB about it on Wed. at my appt. too.

I'm not in any HURRY for DS to arrive, but I think this is a good sign!

  • I've been having the same issue for the last few days (along w/the return of m/s). I was hoping it meant labor was coming soon, but no luck yet Confused

This pretty much. I've been pooping 3-4 times a day. I'm hoping it has nothing to do with labor because I want this guy to stay put until at the very least 38 weeks. But man oh man, I'd love to not feel like I need to run immediately into the nearest bathroom.

Things have not been right for me for about a week, but no labor here. Of course, every night at 3 am when I'm up with the trots I get my hopes up. I think at this point we will just all be crazy and over thinking things until the end.

I feel bad for our husbands/partners. Stick out tongue

  • I never experienced this with DD. This time around I haven't been right for weeks, but nothing in the labor area. I think, if anything, it's the being up all night stressing/peeing that has my stomach upset and swinging between diarrhea and constipation. My OB said fluids was all I could do.

Everytime I moan or groan DH is like are you having a contraction?  It is cute because he is so excited!

Psh. DH is the one driving ME crazy! It feels good to just lean over the counter or the back of a chair to take pressure off the back. He's walked in a few times and ran over in a panic asking if it was time. I assured him he would be the FIRST one to know when it was and to chill. Every funny look on my face, grunt when I'm trying to move, etc. sends him over the edge. He told me this morning he's so happy we get to carpool this week (usually it's only once a week) so in case I went into labor he'll be right down the road. It's so insanely sweet but he's driving me bananas.

  • I had diarrhea for about three days a week before I went into labor, then back the normal constipation right up until transition where it returned with a vengeance (poor husband was googling "diarrhea puking signs of labor" and I wanted to tell him "no it's a sign we should have been at the hospital awhile ago"). But I think mine might have been related to too darn much dairy, that can throw off my system something major

  • I haven't had diarrhea, but I have been pooping at least 4 times a day. I have no idea if it's what I've been eating or if it's just my body clearing things out for labor. I have no other signs of labor so far, so who knows.

I had a 3-day bout of The Big D a few weeks ago and was also wondering if it might be a sign things were happening, especially since I had no other symptoms of a tummy bug causing it.  But, whatever it was it passed.  So, I think it could be one of those maddening "maybe, but maybe not" kinds of things.

  • i've been having issues for the last 3 days or so.  it's either one extreme or the other.  this started just after dh said "boy, you've been lucky you haven't had any bathroom issues."

  • I'm in the same boat, too. From last Monday to Friday, I was just going an extra time or two each day. Over the weekend, I must have gone at least 10 times a day, diarrhea each time, up during the night, etc. Between 5:30 and 9:15 this morning, 4 times, but now I haven't had to go since 9:15. I was really hoping it was a sign of labor, but now that I've had a reprieve, I'm hugely grateful!

I told DH last night I was going to have to break out the Desitin for myself.

CA Baby Calendula cream is a miracle. DH has been using it for his eczema and I've been using it on my bottom. We are going to have a jar for every member of the family, it seems.
