How many bottles @ 9 months?

My LOs just turned 9 months recently. It seems like within the past week and a half they haven't been finishing all of their bottles. They will finish the first bottle of the day (8z) and sometimes the last one (8z) but the other 2 it's like pulling teeth to get them to finish it. They'll drink maybe 4z and then want to roll around on the floor, hit the bottle, play with the bottle, etc. A month ago both of them were guzzling every single bottle so I'm a little perplexed. Haha.

Did anyone go to 3 bottles around this time? How should I go about doing it, just feed them solids instead of a bottle and offer a sippy of water if they're thirsty? I feel like I've been wasting so much formula lately.

We went to (4) 6oz bottles when DS started not sitting still long enough. It worked for us. The Ped said it's pretty normal once they are mobile to not want to sit still to eat b/c moving is so new to them! I say, just do what works for you- even if that means (6) 4 oz bottles/day (if you do total of 24oz). Good luck!!

We just switched from 5 6oz bottles to 4 6oz bottles a day. (But DD is 10 months)

We're down to 3 and have been for about a month. He gets 8oz before each nap and 10-12 oz before bed. His AM bottle was only 4-6 oz with breakfast and he for whatever reason never drank it so we gave up. We just give him a filling breakfast. Works for me since we are usually running out the door anyway... huge time saver!
