A couple questions re: replacing snaps

I am over the applix and daycare seems to be fine with snaps so I want to try to do the conversion. It seems easy enough that I would prefer to do it myself than send them out and  have to use disposables while they are replaced. I'd love any feedback or advice regarding the follwong questions (or that you just think would be helpful): 

Where did you get your snap press?

I think I get how to do it on the pocket diapers, anyone haev experience w/replacing snaps on a BG Elemental or similar type diaper? How do you place the snaps (i.e. through the inner and PUL or do you undo the seam on the inside to just place them on the PUL?) Any tutorials people have found helpful.

kamsnaps.com has snap presses and matching BG snap colors.  They also have easy to follow instructions on how to change over pocket diapers.  I haven't looked into the elementals so not sure about those.
