Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Does your LO like their toys?

We have a ton of toys for our son but he only seems interested in everything we don't want him touching.  I'm sure this is a phase but ever since he started crawling at 7 months he only plays with his toys for 2 or 3 minutes until he's trying to eat a shoe or shove his hand into the vents.

  • She does, but we have to change my often to keep her intrest going.  Otherwise she will be looking for things we rather her not touch.

  • He does, but he definately went through a phase a few months back like what you're mentioning.  Now, he's less into power cords, remote controls, the garbage, etc. and more into his toys- he even plays with them the right way now rather than just banging on them ;)

  • LO likes his toys but likes yours he would much rather be messing with something that he shouldnt be messing with. but, i havent moved anything or blocked anything off though just so i could teach him what he shouldnt be touching.

  • Now that DS is crawling, there are so many other distractions.  We have had some luck with putting his toys all around the house (he's good at finding dog toys too).  We have a few non-toys that are now toys - an old remote and empty water bottle.

  • My 10 month old really isn't that into his toys either, which I think is very common. He would much rather play with our two dogs or his older brother, who he follows everywhere. We bought a lot less toys this second time around!

  • I'd say DS is 1/2 into his toys, and 1/2 into everything else.  We rotate his toys so that he's playing with "new" toys every few days or so.  Lately, he's been into things that aren't really toys - remote, empty water bottles, cooking utensils, tupperware.  We're moving in 8 days so my apartment is like box-land so he's been in hog heaven pulling up on all the different boxes and cruising through boxville  :)

  • No, DS is bored with his toys or just doesn't seem interested. He'd rather get into things he shouldn't. Sometimes I feel like he just doesn't like the toys b/c they are in our house, but he'd play with them if he saw them elsewhere. Once he kept trying to play with another LO's toy that he also has...except he could care less about it at home.
