Babies: 9 - 12 Months

we have a crawler *finally!*

DS finally started crawling this weekend! He would just sit and happily play for months...we thought he'd never crawl. It's amazing, it just happened in a matter of two days!

He also started saying "mama" (not sure if it was aimed toward me or not). He has/had hearing loss so any milestone where he says a consonant is a big deal for us. The more "words" he says, the more we know he's hearing/learning. :)

Re: we have a crawler *finally!*

  • This gives me hope. DD is content to just sit and play. Actually, she prefers to lie on the floor and roll around. We are actually working on it in physical therapy (originally in PT for torticollis). DD doesn't even push up on her hands yet though, so I don't expect her to crawl anytime soon. Congrats on your DS crawling and saying mama!

He didn't even push up on his hands until he was 10 months. It all happened really fast. We were also going to start PT next month if he didn't start to do it. So, watch out...it could all happen really fast!!

  • That's Great!! So glad to hear he's crawling and saying Mama! I was starting to think DD wouldn't crawl either and she started to scoot on her bum when she turned 9 months and now she's so fast she gets into everything! lol But I do enjoy her finally being mobile = ) Yay for mobile babies!!

  • Yay Oliver!  I'm very excited for him.

Maybe he can come over and show Emma a few tricks.  She still only does a 360 and a little backward scooting.

She'll be doing it before you know it. He started scooting backwards last week so we knew crawling was in the near future.
