FYI baking soda and hair

Just thought I'd let you know:

 

I'm a hairdresser and when a client comes in and the color on their hair is too dark, we make a baking soda / shampoo paste and wash their hair. It will usually help to remove some of the color. 

So, if you have colored hair, be careful with the baking soda

baking soda is also used in the salon for removing buildup on hair. i guess that's why it makes a good shampoo..

Do you always mix with shampoo or do you ever just make a paste with water?
