Ear Infection with No Fever? Or....

Hi Ladies-

 

I am hoping someone can relate!! My daughter is 10 months old and is usually super happy, funny, loving..... BUT NOT LATELY!!! She is high mantience all of a sudden! Screaming, throwing things, happy one second and crying the next... So my thoughts are...she had a stomach bug last week and then yesterday she started cutting 2 teeth....  Could she have an ear infection? She never had a fever.... Or does this just sound like a 10 month old teething...??

DS will run a slight (101ish) fever. Have you taken her temp? How's she eating?

This. Honestly what tipped me off was him not sleeping. Are these the first teeth being cut or are these teeth in addition to....

Preston has never had a fever with an ear infection (and he has had plenty of ear infections). Harrison has had an ear infection (once) and had a low grade fever, but he has also had low grade fevers from teething as well.

DS has had 2 ear infections and he never had a fever with either of them.  He will run a low-grade fever when teething though.  He also gets fussy when teething and tugs on his ears.  I have taken him to the doc twice before thinking that he had ear infections when it was just teething.

If you are concerned about it being an ear infection, if he is still upset in the morning, for peace of mind, call the nurse at your ped's office. Otherwise it does sound like teething, and it really seems to help my DD to give her tylenol.
