Does anyone have a recommendation for room darkening blinds? We have been through a couple of weeks of non-sleeping, and I realized it's because DS had been going to bed at 7 before the time change. He won't go down when it's light out, so he was pushing his bedtime back to 8:30 and it was NOT going well. I covered his window with a bunch of blankets tonight and boom, asleep at 7. He's got a really wide window.
They're not pretty, but they were easy. We still have two left, and I may put them up in DS's room in our house for a while until I order new shades for his room. (I'm planning to get him cordless room darkening shades eventually to replace the too narrow shades that are in his room now.)
We got some from Target (I think they were liners). We have regular curtains hanging as well. We've taken them down to clean/bleach twice and they've held up really well.
If you have curtains on his window, you can buy yards of room-darkening material at most fabric stores and cut them to fit your panels. We have them clipped with curtain rings to the back of DD's and DS's panels and they do the job nicely without much expense or drilling into anything.
We recently bought room-darkening vinyl roller shades from Home Depot. They cut them to the width of your window, so go in with measurements. I think they were $18 each.
Re: Room darkening blinds?
We used these paper ones for a while in our apartment:
