My recent Craigslist find...

Our nursery is already pretty gender neutral. So, instead of redoing the nursery we are turning our guest bedroom into a "big girl" room for DD. The walls are kind of a light, limey green. The fabrics we are using have a mixture of pinks, watermelons, yellow and green in them.

I want to do the furniture with a shabby chic look.... so I found this bed on craigs list for $75.It was pretty scratched so I sanded it....

And here it is after I painted it, sanded it some more and gave it a faux finish. I'm so excited to see what it looks like in the room!

Cool!... My aunt owns a local boutique where she turns "junk" furniture into really cool pieces. Not that you would shop there, because it's in MN, but you may want to check out some of her work. It is similar to what you did. I am always amazed by her prices.

Wow! What a great find. I am sure it will look gorgeous in her room. You will have to post pics later of her room with the new bed in it. : )
