April 2011 Moms

Sigh...I am NOT due any day now people!!!

My mom and I went to a local children's sale this morning at one of the churches in the area and about 3-4 woman came up to me and said "Any day now, huh??"

Nope. 4 weeks and 4 days to go. Thanks. Surprise

  • I hate this comment as well. My feeling is, "Don't get my hopes up!" lol

  • a few weeks ago at the supermarket, one of the deli workers asked me how long to go.  i said "six weeks," and her answer was, "six?!  really?!  i thought two or three."  thanks. then she told me about her daughter, etc., which is what really gets me.  i can kind of excuse random stupid comments from men and from women who have never been pregnant.  but when women who have experienced all of the pleasantries of pregnancy say stupid things to other pregnant women, it baffles me.  like the time a female co-worker who has children said, "oh wow your face really got fatter." Indifferent

  • I am with you!!! At work every time I move people ask are you ok? Are you in labor?  No thank you I am not!!!!  I am actually not due to have this baby for another month!!

  • I've been getting this for weeks!
  • When I say "April 30" is my due date, you'd think those comments would subside... nope! "Oh, so any day now?" Um, no, I just said April 30 (and this has been going on for 3 weeks now)! I know there is always the chance to go early, but nothing has indicated that is going to happen!

  • Yeah I'm getting that at work.. ppl thinking every little thing means I am going into labor. And one guy even said to me "you're having quadruplets right?" Sigh.

  • I've been getting that one from people at work that don't work closely with me.  Please stop insinuating that I am the size of a house ( I am well aware that I am large) and stop reminding me how much longer I have to go!

  • I'm getting the same comments.  And even better, I'm getting a lot of "you're not nearly as big as you were last time."  That's a great comment for 2 reasons:  1.  I am just as big if not bigger so clearly you're lying  and 2. Thanks for continuing to insult me regarding my last pregnancy which was nearly 3 years ago.

My favorite is still the audible gasp sound that some people make when you tell them how much longer you have.  Also, that accompanied with the look of shock and horror on their faces.

  • I have been getting this comment since I was 7 weeks away from my EDD. I HATE when people say that!!  Now that I'm even closer, I get the whole "whoa! you're ready to pop!" comment.... I hate that even more!    A)  I'm well aware that my belly is quite large and I look ready to deliver, genius; and B) POP!?  I really hate that word.  What does that even mean!?  Angry
  • I stood up today at work right as baby gave a large kick, so naturally, I put my hand on my belly. Everyone in the room gasped and jumped up, practically shouting "Is it time???" Geez people, get a grip!

  • I hear ya.  I'm due April 30, while I'd LOVE for it to be "any day now," I'd actually prefer my baby NOT come a full month early.  This bun's gotta stay in the oven 'til she's fully baked!
