Anyone ever buy a "tester" diaper?

 This is a smaller size A12 - Fits from NB to 28 pounds (supposedly), I bought an extra soaker/doubler set (although I don't know if I'll be able to reuse the cover more than once, it wasn't much and it'll come in handy some day I'm sure!).

Has anyone bought a tester before? Obviously each brand/WAHM is different, but did you end up liking it or totally hating it? I've got 8+ weeks left before I'll be able to put it OTB, so I'm just curious if it was a good deal or a total hit or miss type thing.
