Diaper rash solution

Please recommend your remedy. Poor DD is teething again and therefore having messy poop diapers. Her butt is red and even lightly bleeding in a few spots when I changed her before bed. I felt horrible when I gently wiped her off and she screamed in pain. :( Help please!

Re: Diaper rash solution

  • Have you tried Aquaphor?  It works really well for us.

  • Let her be naked as much as possible.

We have been having the best luck with Balmex, and once the major redness and bleeding goes away we usually switch to something gentler by california baby or natural butt paste.

No, but I will check that out. I've never heard of it.

  • Also, when you wipe her try using plain water with a baby wash cloth, much more gentle on the skin than the chemicals in wipes.  I usually use cloth diapers, but when DD gets a rash I second the Balmex with a disposable.  It usually clears up overnight, but she has never had one this bad.  GL!
  • We have had a lot of luck with tons of nakie time and Desitin Max at every diaper change.
  • i just recently switched to butt paste and it cleared the last diaper up in about 2 days, desitin wasnt working for us for some reason. also lots of air time too
