Can't sleep!! Any ideas??

So I am almost 31 weeks with my twins and for the life of me I have not been able to get a good nights sleep.  I have a pregnancy pillow, tried it in front of me, in back of me, around me...you name it.  I am so uncomfortable!!  Any suggestions?? I am thinking tonight I may have to just try the couch and sleep in a 1/2 upright position but I really don't want to sleep in the living room and not with my DH.

 Any suggestions???

 TIA

  • You still sleep with your husband (LOL).  I quit sleeping with mine in the second trimester.  That's my only suggestion.Stick out tongue

  • Yeah, I slept on the couch for months. I still didn't sleep all that well on the couch but I slept better there than I did in bed.

  • oddly enough i never got that uncomfortable with my twin pg... but i had a HORRIBLE time sleeping with my singleton pg - and spent the last 6 weeks sleeping in the recliner in the nursery... that is when i wasn't in the hospital with kidney stones or PTL :)

  • I'm like you, I enjoy sleeping with my DH every night.

Anyway, towards the end I resorted to a tylenol PM on occasion. It really helped. Also bring it up with your doctor and they may prescribe something for you.

    Good luck!

  • About 26-28 weeks is when I started getting really uncomfortable sleeping. The only thing that would work for me, (up until the last 2 weeks) was to use as many pillows as I can. I have my body pillow, then an extra pillow between my legs, behind my back and under my tummy. This helped for a while but about 2 weeks ago, stopped helping.

I switched to just a pillow between my legs and one under my head and have slept suprisingly well for the last 2 weeks. I don't know if its becuase I'm bigger now or what, but maybe try adding a bunch of pillows and then taking away a bunch if that doesn't work.

    Good luck!

  • Sorry, I am not much help but for what it's worth it is 4:21am my time and I am out on the couch.  I miss sleeping with my poor DH, but the couch is the only place I can actually sleep.... I am only 15 weeks along so I imagine it will only get worse from here on out Tongue Tied

  • my biggest regret is not having a recliner at that point. I really wish we had bought a reclining glider instead of our chair that just glides/rocks b/c I couldve used it during pregnancy (and for that matter it would've been great for some nights in the first several months where I'd fall asleep holding them and my neck would be so uncomfortable). The couch was sometimes better than the bed for me (esp b/c I had carpal tunnel in both hands & need to keep them straight/elevated) but it still was not much better, the recliner would've been awesome. GL!
