So I had my first shower last Saturday. It was thrown by my mom and sister and it was family, family friends and close friends of mine. We were given INCREDIBLE gifts (new bouncer, pack n play, swing, nice diaper bag etc etc). Because the people who came are so special to me and were so generous, I am hand making the thank you cards. I LOVE paper crafting and I wanted them to be extra special, personal, etc. I'm ALMOST done and I was hoping to have them in the mail today but it looks like they won't go out until Monday. I'm kind of stressing that because of my decision to make them, I've taken too long to get them out. Am I being paranoid? I really don't regret making them because they've turned out really cute, but I'm just curious what everyone else feels like is a good and acceptable timeline for getting them out. TIA!

Re: Clicky Poll - Thank You cards deadline. EEK!
I wanted mine out within a week, but my husband's grandfather passed away 4 days after my shower so everyone in the family was a bit busy and preoccupied with arrangements, etc. I mailed the last of my TY cards out the other day - that was the 10th day after my shower. I felt like they were late, but I know people would understand b/c of the death. (So I voted for 2 weeks.)
I also wanted to send along a little something extra to my 2 sisters who hosted, so I had to buy those gifts too. Everything takes time, ugh. I did ~5 a day until they were finished.

1 month is the standard for thank you cards but if you get them out sooner you are really great!! I'm sure people don't expect them within a week or two bc you are pregnant and have a lot more on your mind.
I would say 1 month.
However, if circumstances were present that delayed them going out, as a guest I would be ok with it. My best friend had her daughter the day after her shower at 32 weeks. I would have not thought differently if she never sent them, but I think I got them 2-3 months after...
Ditto, the sooner the better, but if you're doing more personalized and a hand touch, it means much more and another week is fine.
