i mean i am thrilled you welcomed a healthy baby but you stole one of our top name choices

she named her son Skyler though for a girl i prefer schuyler or skylar, it is still a name in contention.  i hate when celebs use a name and people think that you name the baby after what the celeb chose.

I am still thinking  Morgan Samantha for our little one - but this is annoying

I used to love the name Emma.  It was a top contendor for me...until the Friends finale.  It boomed in popularity after that.

Ok I just looked up an article on her having her baby, and she stole your first name, and my middle name! It's a good thing I absolutely adore her.

Personally I think posts like this are hilarious.  Just because a celebrity used a name doesn't always mean its going to take off.  I mean I can't say I've meet anyone who has named their child Pilot Inspektor (yes with the K) or Apple.

Although what I find funnier and yet somewhat understandable is if a family member or friend use a name you considered....although in my own opinion you can name your kid whatever you want.  It doesnt matter who used the name first.

I also don't understand why some people feel the need to ask other family or friends if it's ok to use a certain name. It's not that complicated, if you like a name use it.

no one in our family knows what names we are even considering for our LO.

That said, once a celeb uses a name i thought of as more unique for her kid, that name often becomes more popular and people begin to associate it with that celeb.  so, that is why i am not so into it

1.  Rachel Zoe is a like a D-list celebrity.  The only people who even know who she is are the people who read tabloids and even less people are going to pay any attention to her baby's name so I doubt the name is going to take off or be known as "rachel zoe's baby name."   Unless this baby is cast in the next Twilight installment I think it'll be ok.

2.  Sissy Spacek named her daughter Schuyler in 1982 and it didn't soar in popularity.

3.  Skylar isn't a unique unheard-of name.  I would definitely not name a baby Suri, Apple, Sundae, or Sparrow but Skyler is fair game.

4.  By the time your child starts kindergarten, even the tabloid junkies will have forgotten about Rachel Zoe. 

5. Skylar/Schuyler is a GREAT name!  It's not trendy, it's not popular, it's not so uncommon it's considered weird, it's cute for a pretty little girl and classy for a grown woman.  The nn Sky is great, too. 

Oh, and yes, I have had a celebrity steal my name.  My grandpa is from Scotland and I live in MI (the Great Lakes).  Lochlan is a Scottish name that means Land of Lakes.  Then Vince Vaughn named his daughter Lochlyn!  Oh well, I can't use it anyway because my last name starts with C and if his nickname was Loch it wouldn't sound right.
