Yesterday morning I thought I had lost part of my mucus plug, and I was having back pain and BH off and on. The OB saw me, and everything looked fine. Cervix was long and closed, no contractions. She sent me to L&D to be monitored just in case. After 30 minutes on the monitor, again, everything looked fine--no contractions, and the babies looked great. They came in to do the ultrasound to check cervical length again, and that's when things went south. Apparently my cervix funnelled from 4.8 to 1.5 and back while they were doing the ultrasound. I also started having several mild contractions in a row. They gave me Procardia and tons of IV fluids, which thankfully stopped the contractions. I was finally sent home on Procardia every six hours and strict bedrest. They also did an FFN, and will have the results back today when I go back to my doctor. However, the nurses told me I'd probably be on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy. It was scary to go from thinking everything was fine, to everything definitely NOT being fine in such a short time period. Oh, and they don't think it was my mucus plug, but just some old stuff from my SCH working its way out. Still, I'm glad that's what got me in to see the Dr. Could really use some T&P as I go back to the OB today and face the next few weeks at home. I just want to keep these babies cooking for several weeks longer!!

Sending T&P. I've been where you are and know how scary it is. Try to stay calm and very hydrated. I'm sure they told you already, but a +FFN test doesn't always mean that you will go into labor soon. At 26 weeks I got a +FFN and had 1.5 CL (was put on strict bedrest at 23weeks 5 days for PTL). I was able to remain steady for many more weeks and delivered at 32 weeks due to pre-E. I probably would have went further had I not developed that.
I just wanted to give you a positive story. I was on procardia also.
Hang in there! I'll say a prayer for you and your little ones.
