Did your grandmother really spell her name with two Ls and no E? I've never seen it spelled that way before. I'm very tempted to advise fixing the spelling, since there's no way anyone's going to spell it correctly like that (Isabel or Isabelle is best). I'm on the fence, though, since you're using it to honor her.
We really like Isabelle, but relegated it to our middle name list because we liked other names better. We seriously discussed it as a first name possibility, though.
I agree that you should use it if it has super special meaning. Otherwise, unless the popularity doesn't bother you, I would look at other family names for inspiration. It's a pretty name!
so long as i liked the name and no one in my personal circle had it (i wouldn't want my kid to have the same name as a close friend or family member), i would definitely use it!
I have a baby named Isabel, who we named after my awesome great-aunt. I personally don't know any other baby Isabels right now (just one Isabella). But I'm ok with it being popular because we love it and it means a lot to my aunt (and to us).

Yep, I'd totally use it. Especially fine because Isabell doesn't seem nearly as popular as Isabella. (FWIW I like Isabell much better than Isabella anyway)
Re: Isabell
Yes. For me, the family tie trumps other concerns, be they popularity or ugliness.
That said, I would only do it if that was the person who meant the most to me ? not just because she had a name I liked anyway.

Yep, I would.
