...and McDonald's is in on the conspiracy.
I decided today that I either need to take something to increase production or I need to supplement with formula. Landon eats about 30 oz a day, unless my FIL watches him when I'm working. Then he eats 40. WTF, FIL?
Anyway, I was taking L to visit my mom at lunch at her work today and I stopped at McD's where their recording happened to be for oatmeal. So I ordered some, paid, got my bag, and left the drive thru. I got to my mom's office and there was no oatmeal.
My rational brain tells me L needs to eat and I should just start adding a bottle of formula every day. My irrational, stubborn brain says that I should immediately quit work and spend all day every day BFing my son... which I can't do.
I just want to know why he eats so much when he is with my FIL.
Re: The world does not want me to breastfeed...
There's an article on KellyMom (which I can't find right this minute) that explains why babies will eat more from a bottle even after they've fed enough.
It's one of the reasons that bf'ing moms sometimes feel that the baby isn't getting enough to eat. They'll bf and then offer a bottle and the baby will eat the extra food from the bottle. It doesn't mean that they're not getting enough from the breast though.
My little man at 0-1-2
Since I've gone back to work, I have been doing about 80% pumped milk and 20% BFing. I only BF during the days if I'm home... usually twice daily if I'm home all day, or just once if I'm only home in the evening.
I don't do this. If he BF's, that's all. I never BF and then top off with a bottle. Ever.
