your wedding? Everything but the honeymoon and rehearsal dinner. I realize it is incredibly rude to ask, but my mom and I were having a discussion about this yesterday and I want to prove her wrong. It's anonymous anyway

One of my friends was talking to his brother about wedding costs and since we got married recently he called me to ask how much ours was. He said, "I'm trying to tell him, a nice wedding, catered, at a place with +/- 150 people will cost more than 10K but he doesn't believe me!" They live in Laguna Niguel, CA. It took me a good 10 minutes of laughing before I could answer.

We got a lot of wedding services as "gifts" from friends who do those things for a living (my brother is a photographer, our friend is a DJ, another friend is a pastor, etc.) and was able to do our 100 person wedding on the waterfront in Annapolis, MD for $8K. I have no problem sharing - I'm damn proud. lol

When all was said and done, it all cost about $19k. Friday wedding, off season in Newport, RI. If we had had it on a Saturday after May 1, it would have been at least $10k more.

my first wedding that i called off was probably about to cost around 20, which we had no way to afford, so good thing i called it off:) (yes different man)

Under 5k  my dress was probably the most expensive part of our wedding. My dress was about $800. The best mans mom is a photographer, my friend at school made our cake and catered. We had our wedding at the beach on Lake MIchigan and the reception outside at my SIL's house. The only things we really spent money on was my dress, the tuxes and the flowers.

You mean you didn't have the "chicken dinner" or "grand march"??????

I spent less than $5k. Total cost was $3,200. I had a beach wedding on Sand Key with 50 people and a catered reception with an additional 80.

I was laid off work in Feb and my wedding was in July. I had a LOT of time to find the best possible deals.

Ours was 5-6k total, including our honeymoon.  It was as small as I could get it and still keep DH happy, and I loved it.

This will be at least 30.  My brother had his in Granite Bay, CA and it was well over 30.

ETA: My mom and I managed to keep mine under 10.  150 guests with a caterer in my parent's backyard.  It was perfect.
