Ugh--Wonderful

So my boss said she'd start getting up and answering the main door (we don't have a receptionist). Well, just as I thought, the door rang and she didn't get up. Well, I get up and walk down the stairs and my foot slips off the step and I start to fall. Had to catch my self on the railing. Yeah, my back is KILLING me now! Pain shooting up the left side of my back. I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another. I hope LO is ok. Everything felt like it got "jammed up." Hard to explain but gosh... I'm sitting down and DO NOT want to get up. I'm afraid to stand up. This is going to suck! Maternity Leave, where are you?

  • I would call your Dr if you're in pain. You may want to make sure you didn't pull/tear anything inside.

  • I hope your boss feels pretty shitty and gets off her butt!!! Hope you are ok. I would def atleast call the doctor and let them know what happened. They can decide whether or not it is serious enough for you to come in and be checked. Hope you feel better!

  • Hope u feel better soon. If the pain does not get better, call your doc to be safe.

Ditto all of this.  I hope your boss feels horrible!  But definitely call the doc just to see if they want you to come in at all.

  • I hope your boss feels horrible and is waiting on you hand and foot now.  I would call your doctor and at least let them know what happened.  If there is anything to be concerned about, they'll call you in or tell you to go to the ER.  If anything they may tell you to rest the next couple of days and monitor yourself (and LO) ... if you miss any work, I would talk to HR and make sure you are paid for it.

About a month ago, I slipped on the ice outside and fell flat on my back. When I called the doctor's office they got me right in. They also told me that sometimes, saving yourself from falling can do more damage (pulled muscles, etc) than actually falling. So I would def. call your doctor.

Very true! I dislocated my shoulder trying to avoid falling on my laptop by grabbing a railing on some stairs. My Dr berated me and told me he'd buy me a brand new laptop if he had to, I was to never do that again!
