dc area midwife/at home birth

has anyone in the area done at at home birth with a midwife?

my current OB [whom i LOVE] has been bought out by the hospital OB practice and now instead of having security of one doctor, any one of FIVE doctors could see me/deliver my baby. i'm not a happy mama!

after having a horrible experience with my son at another hospital [that i refuse to go back too], i am running out of options. no other SINGLE OB's practice at the other local hospital so i am considering midwives and the possibilty of giving birth at home.

the closest birthing center to me is Special Beginnings in Anne Arundel and that is still rougly an hour from me. DC is a closer option.

any advice/suggestions would be great!

There's also one in Alexandria (https://www.birthcare.org/) but I've heard they fill up really fast.

 

I'm really interested in home birth for #2 (I'm in MD) so I'm curious to see what you find out.

i'm a patient at birthcare and women's health in alexandria.  i used them for my first pregnancy and was very impressed with all of the midwives and the level of care they provided, so now i'm back with my second pregnancy.  having a homebirth was wonderful -- you should definitely look into it more if you are interested.
