My poor dog...

broke his toenail. It is just kind of hanging on. I looked at it and it is definitely bleeding I can't cut it off, it will bleed all over the place, but if he snags it on anything, it will bleed all over the place. I am going to call the vet in the morning, but I feel bad for him. That must hurt like a b!tch! He's been licking it all day, but I didn't really notice that it was his toenail until like 6 (after the vet's office closed). Any thoughts on what I should do for it?

sorry this is late but i wasnt on the bump last night!  dip his toe in flour or cornstarch to stop the bleeding.  then bandage it up lightly and cover it with a sock so he doesnt get the bandage all wet.  those things do take time to stop bleeding and can bleed a lot but itll be ok.  call your vet in the am!
