Jealous

I'm typing quickly so forgive my errors.

I had a rough day with LO today. I'm super stressed about our move and when LO has meltdowns it just gets worse.

Today, Mr Techie came home and was telling me about his day. How stressful it was and how he just needed time to get out of the office so even though he brought his lunch, he left the office and went and got a deli sandwich. He ate his lunch in the park and stopped by a team store and bought some stuff.

All I could think was, I really wish I had that opportunity. I would love a chance to take a break from my "job" and just de-stress so that I could handle the rest of the day.

I'm totally jealous of his ability to take breaks and walk away.

Re: Jealous

  • I hear ya.  DH & I had this discussion the other day!  I said something to the effect of "at least you get to join in on a random email thread with your friends" and he got sooo defensive!  He said something along the lines of "Oh, yeah.  That's what I do all day"  ugh!  NOT THE POINT.

I had a nightmare the other day.  I ran out & did errands & got to eat lunch, but I left the baby at home.  With no one there.  I guess I need to get out & get a break more often.  Tongue Tied  That dream scared the shiiit outta me!

  • It is bad that I find staying home with A easier than my job?

I teach high school, so I actually don't get to pee when I want, and I deal with 123 students per day.  I also only get 22 minutes for lunch.  I love my job, but I gotta say, it's sometimes easier to face a day with trying to control only one child!

  • I feel the same way sometimes.  One is just sooo tied down with a baby.  I think our partners sometimes forget or don't know what it's like.  Grrr...

  • I know exactly how you feel! That's why I have started going for walks with the baby and dog. Especially on R's bad days cuz he loves the walks and has his best naps when we walk.

  • I understand.  As much as we love our LO's we need SOME time away from them.

  • I feel the same way.  When MH goes to work all day and forgets to call us at least once I always think it must be nice.  I can't remember what it's like to have a free brain and not be constantly thinking about what I need to do for my kids

  • Yes - the ability to pee and poop and drink and eat on demand are soooo under-rated before you're  a mom!

Techie, I'm  jealous of your DH. I don't know the last time I had time off without kids in tow. :(

  • I totally understand.  Yesterday, DH was complaining about how tired he was because he got up so early to go for a run before work (he still got a full night's sleep).  He didn't have to get up at 5:30 to go running.  I do have to get up at 1, 3, 5, and 6:30 to feed Alec and at 2 to take the dog out.  I told him I'm the last person he should talk to about being tired.
