So I'm 20.5 weeks. I'm feeling the babies move regularly, and I don't feel any contractions that I know of (but then again, i didn't feel any with my son, so that may not be a good indicator).
I've been having a lot of pressure down on my cervix. I know the triplets are getting bigger and I know that they kick it every now and then, but this feels more regular than a kick here and there. I had my anatomy scan 6 days ago and my cervix was long and closed at 3.3cm. I have another appointment on Friday morning and I'm going to talk to him about this, but any experience? Is it fairly normal to have this much pressure this early on because of the size and weight of the uterus??
I did call the doc and the nurse said its probably from overexerting myself yesterday (which I KNOW I did), so I'm on the couch with my feet up for the rest of the day, chugging water, but still...
Thanks in advance!
Re: Yet another "is this normal" question
My DS was very low, right on top of my cervix during my entire twin pregnancy. So much so, that I started dilating at 21 wks and had to have an emergency cerclage. My cervix went from 3.something to 1.8 in less than 2 wks time. I don't say that to scare you, but it is something to keep an eye out for and make SURE they do a cervical length check at every appt. Had I not been going in every 2 weeks, I would have lost my babies for sure. I was not feeling contractions at all (just minor braxton hicks). After my cerclage, I held steady, but would still feel LOTS of pressure from time to time. Some days it would feel like they were literally going to fall out, but then I'd go in for a check, and my cervix was still tight.
So, yes...it's normal to feel the pressure, but always go with your gut if you feel like somethings wrong, and make sure they check you often! GL!!
Baby A is breech and has been for the past few months, so she likes to stretch out and push low in my cervix which is a very lovely uncomfortable feeling. I told my dr just this morning at my appt that I dont know if I'll recognize "pressure" since there is always some pressure when she pushes so low!
Good luck at your appt!
