Cloth Diapering

Wipes Warmer question

My DD has started to HATE the cold wipes I use to wipe her.  I'm using cheap baby washcloths that I store in a disposable wipes container.  I mix up the solution and pour it over the wipes.  It's freezing whenever I get one out to wipe her.  I'm going to go today and get a wipes warmer.

Anyone have any recommendations or things they love/hate about particular models?

Can I use the same system I use now, where there is liquid in the bottom of the warmer, or is that a no-no?

Re: Wipes Warmer question

  • I use the Prince Lionheart Warmies Wipes Warmer.  It fits about 25 of the cheap baby washcloths folded in half.  I don't find it necessary to keep the solution in the warmer.  I wet them before putting them in and they stay wet enough to be effective.

  • I am interested to hear what others are doing.  I found a Prince Lionheart one at Target that is for cloth diapers but I wondered if you could use just any wipes warmer. I didn't use a wipes warmer with DS #1 but I used disposables on him.

The thing that worried me about this one is that it says it has a sponge in the bottom that should  be replaced every 2-3 months...not a big deal but where do you buy the replacement?  I see a replacement online at Target but it is for their Ultimate Wipes Warmer not the Warmies one.  What do you do about this?

I have the PL warmer and I never use the sponge.

I haven't been using it long enough to need to change the sponge yet.  I doubt I'll go with their recommended 2-3 months though.  I'll just judge for myself when I think it needs to be replaced.  Amazon.com has the PL replacements:

I also don't have a problem with skipping the sponge altogether.  My wipes aren't in there long enough before I clean it for them to get yucky.
