It's going... I had an interview (in another state) 2 weeks ago. They have two open positions in a very small community, but they want to build their applicant pool prior to making any hiring choices. I feel good about my chances there.
However, DH is also doing very, very well in his shop here. He's also getting ready to undertake another form of income (doing solid surface countertops in addition to his custom woodworking) for his shop, which is an incredible opportunity and profit in this community/market. The man who currently does this (he's the only one in town/on island) makes over $200k a year doing just the countertops, he'd like to get out of the business and truly retire, so DH is very interested in becoming certified and taking over that.
So, I may become a SAHM. After having spring break with DS and getting to spend every day with him for 10 days, I fell in love with all of that time. I truly love teaching, but being a SAHM, if we could afford it, sounds amazing as well. DH is fully convinced that he can support us, so I think this is the avenue that we're most heavily pursuing. DH loves living here, and would hate to leave. The only thing I don't like about living here is family; too close to DH's (within 5 minutes from MIL and SFIL, FIL, and BIL and his wife), and too far from mine. But I can deal with that. A happy husband makes a good husband
I will be eligible for COBRA for 18 months after my contract expires, so that takes the fear of not having insurance away. Yes, we'll have to pay for it, but with as well as DH is doing, that shouldn't be a problem. This should also help in not changing our TTC schedule (hopefully).
Thanks for thinking of me

I'm glad things are working out for you guys. Having family so close can be a double edged sword. If you become a SAHM you would still be teaching but it would be a classroom of 1. I hope it works out for you!
